Collage in Progress

I decided to allow myself to break from my original idea about a basement and allow myself to explore other environments. I ended up looking at forest scenes and old buildings and
decided to do collages surrounding both themes. I haven't done a collage since my first year of high school but I figured it would be a good idea to collage the pictures into a silhouette.

    I'm not sure if I would chuck the basement idea just yet. This idea of old buildings and forest scenes has potential, along with basements. Basements are seen as the bottom of the barrel point in the house. Rarely are they connected to air conditioning, ventilation, and proper lighting and are therefore vulnerable the natural environment. After years of neglect, all things (including those manufactured: basements, old buildings) return to or rather are seized back by the natural environment. But for a moment in time, they live in harmony as a hub and beacon for new life in place of death .

    I agree with Brianna! Don't chuck the basement idea. I think it would be worth it to take the things you would have been exploring in a forest/old building environment (i.e. neglect, like Brianna said) and further investigate them in the basement setting. Not to mention, the architectural aspects of basements are super interesting -- physically and conceptually.

    Also, why a fairy silhouette?
